A private pre-session consultation

Prepare with confidence

A little planning makes the visit easier.

Bring useful health information, wear comfortable clothing and leave time for the preparation and aftercare explained for your chosen method.

Plan your first visit

Before you arrive

Prepare useful information

  • Your current medicines and supplements
  • Known allergies and skin sensitivities
  • Relevant diagnoses or recent procedures
  • Pregnancy or possibility of pregnancy
  • History of fainting, bleeding or poor wound healing
  • The question or goal you want to discuss

During the visit

You remain in control

The practitioner explains the proposed method before beginning. You may ask for a pause, request a change or withdraw consent. Privacy and respectful draping should be maintained.

If wet cupping is being considered, the additional steps and infection-control measures must be explained before consent.

After the visit

Follow the technique-specific guidance

Temporary marks or tenderness may occur. Keep any treated or broken skin clean as instructed. Contact the clinic if you have concerns, and seek medical care for spreading redness, worsening pain, pus, fever, persistent bleeding or another worrying change.

Three questions worth asking

  1. Why is this technique being suggested for me?
  2. What are the likely temporary effects and material risks?
  3. What should I do—and who should I contact—if I am concerned afterwards?
